Frequently Asked Questions
- How does the commission program work?
- You get the percentage shown next to each merchant for your purchases. Some merchants have varying commissions with some products and some products are non-commissionable(such as gift certificates, however, the use of gift certificates will get you credit and in some cases the purchasing of gift certificates).
- How does the referral program work?
- When someone you referred to the program buys something through one of the merchants on our site you get paid the same percentage shown next to the merchant. Yes, it is not just a one time thing either. Everytime they buy something you get paid! It's just another reason to tell even more people. So go to the Spread the Word link at the top of the page now and tell some friends!
- How much can I really make?
- That is all up to you! The more people you tell and the more they shop online means more money for you and more money for them. There is no limit and this no minimum either. We use an estimate of $1 per person per month. So if you have 10 friends signup and shop you will be making about $10/month. Tell more and the income rises. If you have a large group of friends, classmates, teammates or other groups then contact us and we can setup something even more specific for your current website.
- When do I get paid?
- We send out checks on a quarterly basis. If your account is above $50 we send you a check for that amount. If you are below $50 we carry your balance over to the next quarter. We plan on lowering the "payment threshold" amount in the near future and also look to changing our payments to a monthly basis.
- Why do you need my address?
- Your address is needed so we know where to send your check. If you have a PayPal account you can elect to have your check sent electronically.
- Ok, you can have my address but why on earth do you think you need my Social Security Number?
- Well let's just say we don't like it either. It just gives us an even bigger headache to keep that information secure. We do keep that just as safe(since our SSNs are in there too!!). The reason we need it is for tax purposes. Once you are earning more than $600 per year we need to submit a tax form to the IRS and as we all know everything dealing with the IRS involves a SSN or other Tax ID number(TIN).
- Why do some sites have no commission?
- They are provided for your online shopping convenience. We pay you commissions based on what the merchant gives us. If they don't pay us we can't pay you, however we will look for coupons, specials and other sales from them. All in all this is the best mall on the internet! Come to our site first and we will send you in the right direction. Then when you buy something you can then get paid for it!
- Can my identity be stolen by shopping online?
- In short yes. However your chances of this are very minimal. Most identity theft is still done by manual data theft. So don't leave your purse or wallet laying around and of course try to get as much of your mail electronically so there is less harm if someone does do a little window shopping in your mailbox!
- Is your site secure?
- Yes. We do not handle transactions, that is between you and the merchant you shop with. Your profile information is highly secure in our database. We use password protection and even we cannot see it since it is encrypted in our database. So if you lose your password we cannot send it to you and you will have to request a temporary password change and then change it yourself.
